Logistic support & collaboration with Bavarian State Collection
We gratefully acknowledge Prof. Dr. Gert Wörheide, Director of the Bavarian State Collection for Palaeontology and Geology, who granted permission for collaboration with Stefan Sónyi, preparator at the Bavarian State Collection for Palaeontology and Geology. Stefan contributed significantly to our field work and kindly helped with the fish fossil preparation in the lab.
Collaboration with Technical University Darmstadt
Dr. Olaf Lenz (Institute of Applied Geosciences, Technische Universität Darmstadt) analyses the palynomorphs (pollen, spores) and the phytoplankton (diatoms and other algae) from the studied sites in the Tugen Hills.
Prof. Dr. Matthias Hinderer (Institute of Applied Geosciences, Technische Universität Darmstadt) and his
PhD student Dennis Brüsch contribute to the sedimentological analyses of the Miocene sediments in the Tugen Hills; this work is additionally supported by Rainer Petschik (Institute of Geosciences, Johann-Wolfgang Goethe Universität Frankfurt).
