Research interests

Phylogeny and evolution of Metazoa, particularly sponges (Porifera); systematics, phylogeny, and evolution of glass sponges (Hexactinellida); theoretical phylogenetics and computational molecular evolution, especially performance and accuracy of model-based inference methods, effects of character- and taxon-sampling, molecular divergence time estimation, reconstruction of character evolution and diversification patterns; natural history and evolution in general

Current position
